Senior staff attorneys in ALDF’s Litigation Program are responsible for the day-to-day management of their assigned cases and projects, including ensuring the completion of all necessary research, filings, and other aspects of litigation. Senior staff attorneys also develop new cases, either by monitoring news for ideal sets of facts, or developing cases from assigned areas of law.

The Richard & Rhoda Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track academic year Assistant Adjunct position.

The Goldman School of Public Policy seeks applications from researchers in food policy, with an emphasis on the social movements of food production, food service, and labor practices and policies in these sectors. We anticipate that these scholars will study the political, legal, and social aspects of food policy, including: organizing social movements around food policy (e.g., the Local Food movement, Farm-to-Table, the Fight for $15 movement); the use of social media in political organization around food policy; food policy as a tool for broader social justice concerns; etc. We are looking for intellectually rigorous and exciting candidates who can engage with a diverse faculty and can teach innovative courses to our graduate students.

Teaching Responsibilities: Primary duties include teaching graduate level courses, minimum of one course per semester.

General Duties: In addition to teaching, duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, preparing course materials, and advising and mentoring graduate students on independent research projects. The successful applicant will have an active research agenda, be engaged in professional activities and leadership as appropriate, and engage in school and campus service.

The minimum basic qualifications required to be considered an applicant for this position are: Ph.D., J.D. or equivalent degree required at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching. An MPP or MPA degree strongly preferred.

Director of Innovation, Good Food Institute

Summary

The Resources, Science and Industry Division (RSI) of the Congressional Research Service (CRS) is seeking an Analyst in Agricultural Policy. The analyst will conduct analyses that inform congressional deliberations on agricultural policy related to domestic agricultural programs, policies, and markets. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the economics, history, trends, and current status of agricultural policy with an emphasis on crop insurance and farm income support programs for major commodity crops, sugar, and dairy, as well as associated legislative, economic, and regulatory issues and interrelationships with other key agricultural policy areas.

This position requires the ability to utilize analytical methods and techniques to analyze policy issues for the U.S. Congress. Applicants should be comfortable with quantitative approaches in research and familiar with agricultural policy issues with an emphasis on crop insurance and farm income support programs for major commodity crops, sugar, and dairy. Strong writing and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize complex analyses into easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience, are required.

	Food Labeling Compliance Specialist
Description	Overview  The Regulatory Compliance Specialist for Food Labeling is responsible for providing food & nutrition labeling compliance services to Merieux NutriSciences’ food & beverage mfg, retail, import/export and restaurant customers. The specialist ensures that labeling is carried out in accordance with various federal and local guidelines. This position encompasses a variety of nutrition, labeling and regulatory services to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. Job Duties Review, interpret and evaluate food labels, nutrition labels, ingredient statements, allergen statements and other food labeling aspects to ensure compliance with relevant food regulations, as defined. Provide written reports/ assessments of label deficiencies and compliance results. Provide consultation on how to correct deficiencies to address compliance.  Provide regulatory consultation on labeling compliance customer inquiries or projects. This includes reviewing documentations to substantiate labeling accuracy and claims.  Review and consult on label compliance for organic, natural, gluten-free, Non-GMO claims, nutrient content claims and other claims. Develop and consult on nutrition facts labels, ingredient statements and allergen declarations.   Develop and provide technical information to customers as needed. Address emerging regulatory issues pertaining to food labeling and ensure compliance with current and evolving regulations and ensure Merieux NutriSciences services meet changing needs. As necessary, communicate cross functionally regarding current and emerging food labeling issues and opportunities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current food labeling regulations, regulatory activity and trends. Attend webinars and conferences as necessary to stay up-to-date. Complete industry training sessions as needed to stay current in regulatory knowledge.  On occasion, develop and maintain policies and procedures for department functions. Works on company cross-functional regulatory projects as needed. Other regulatory/labeling services upon request.
