Attorney Position Working with General Counsel of Food & Dietary Supplement Company

Job Summary

Our relaxed, but premier and fast-growing food & dietary supplement company is looking to add an attorney to our roster to assist the General Counsel in all matters of regulatory compliance, product labeling, contracts, intellectual property, and employment matters, among other areas.  We operate highly collaborative offices with four different divisions, in which each professional interacts to help others to ensure all teams from marketing to customer service receive the best possible legal management and advice.


Attorney Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide legal support to the General Counsel.
  • Review clinical/scientific substantiation of food and dietary supplement claims and give legal opinions.
  • Expert review of all types of marketing copy for FDA/FTC compliance including labeling, television, radio, social media, negative option offers, material disclosures, and testimonials.
  • Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks.
  • Help manage litigation and review documents.
  • Develop company policy and position on legal issues.

Attorney Qualifications and Skills

  • Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a U.S. state bar (NC admittance not required). 
  • Must have scientific aptitude.  Science background (degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or engineering is a plus but not required)
  • A self-starter with strong aptitude for directness and ability to take direction, but also not afraid to initiate new ideas and convey opinions.
