THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO COLLEGE OF LAW and Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology seek a tenure-track Agricultural Law faculty member beginning Fall 2023, with a tenure home in the College of Law. Entry-level and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. The faculty member would teach an Agricultural Law course, one additional course in the College of Law in a related field, and one course in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology. Candidates must have a: (1) J.D. from an ABA-accredited school or equivalent; (2) M.S. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or closely-related field; or five years professional experience in business, agribusiness, or related field that requires expertise in and knowledge of advanced concepts and theory in business and economics; (3) record or promise of teaching excellence; (4) record or promise of scholarly excellence; and (5) record or promise of excellence in fostering an inclusive learning environment. Preference will be given to candidates with: (1) a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or closely-related field; (2) post-J.D. practice, clerking, or teaching experience; (3) demonstrated excellence in economics and agricultural law; (4) demonstrated excellence in water rights, water quality, and/or other specialization related to agricultural law; (5) experience engaging with stakeholder or multidisciplinary groups relevant to research, outreach or policy priorities in the western U.S.; and (6) demonstrated interest in working with multidisciplinary research teams, including seeking grant funding.
