Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Mary Miller

Congresswoman Mary Miller is seeking a legislative assistant with an interest in agricultural policy and a strong commitment to conservative values. Competitive candidates have 1-2 years of Capitol Hill/related policy experience, are well-organized, and have excellent writing and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include: briefing the Congresswoman on agriculture issues, covering the Agriculture Committee for the Member, including hearing andmark-up preparation, tracking legislation in assigned issues areas (additionalportfolio issues TBD), staffing the Member at meetings and events, meeting withoutside groups and constituents, and occasionally traveling to Illinois forevents/key stakeholder meetings. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the 2023 Farm Bill and issues affecting Rural America. A bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, agribusiness, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Preference will be given to candidates who have a working knowledge of, and/or experience in, agriculture industries.
