The Natural Resources Law Section advises and represents California state agencies, boards, and commissions with responsibility for natural resources management and pollution control, in important, highly visible actions.
The section’s attorneys represent the Air Resources Board, the State Water Resources Control Board, the Regional Water Quality Control Boards, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Fish and Game Commission, the Department of Water Resources, CAL FIRE, the Board of Forestry, the Department of Pesticide Regulation, CalRecycle, the Department of Food and Agriculture, the California Science Center, the California African American Museum, Cal Expo, the state’s District Agricultural Associations (fairs), and other state entities.
The subject matter of the representation includes air pollution, water quality standards, water rights and water supply, CEQA, endangered species, fire suppression cost recovery, timber harvest plans, landfills, pollution cleanup and recovery, pesticide standards, recycling, agricultural matters, and business matters such as bankruptcy, collections, contracts, and fraud.
