Staff Attorney - Socially Responsible Agriculture Project (SRAP) (Remote)

SRAP’s Staff Attorney will work closely with the SRAP Senior Counsel and SRAP Staff fromthe organization’s four core programs: Community Support; Food and Farm Network; Water
Rangers; and Contract Grower Transition. The Staff Attorney will provide direct support and
guidance, as well as informational and educational resources, to SRAP staff and communities
for advocacy purposes. This position does not involve litigation, but a working knowledge of
evidence, discovery, civil procedure, and administrative law is essential. The Staff Attorney will
report to SRAP’s Senior Counsel and will have frequent interaction with the Community
Support Team and the Community Support Team Director. The Staff Attorney may manage
Legal Clerks and Interns.

Mississippi Delta Fellowship 2024 - Ole Miss & Harvard (University, MS)

Applications are open for the Mississippi Delta Fellowship! This is a post-graduate fellowship for a recent law school graduate, starting in Summer 2024. The Mississippi Delta Fellowship centers on community-engaged work in the Mississippi Delta. The Fellow is hosted by the Community First Research Center for Wellbeing & Creative Achievement (CREW) at the University of Mississippi. The Fellowship is a one-year commitment with an opportunity for renewal at the end of the first year. Associate Administrator, USDA, AMS, Fair and Competitive Markets

 In November, the USDA announced the intent to hire of a new Chief Competition Officer within the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS).  The position is now posted.  This new SES-level career position is designed to enhance the regulatory and enforcement policies and programs that AMS implements in fair and competitive markets, including the Packers & Stockyards Act of 1921, the Federal Seed Act, and more.  Many of these have important initiatives underway thanks to the Executive Order (#14036) on Promoting Competition in the American Economy

The position is located in Washington DC.  The post will be open for applications through January 2, 2024.
