The Antitrust Division at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General is responsible for enforcing the Maryland Antitrust Act as well as the federal antitrust laws where there is a significant impact in Maryland. The Division investigated and pursues enforcement actions against potentially anticompetitive mergers and other conduct that might violate civil and criminal antitrust laws. Division attorneys represent the state of Maryland in national and local antitrust matters that have a direct and/or indirect impact on Marylanders and also advise state agencies on issues of immunity from antitrust laws.
The Maryland OAG is currently hiring an Agricultural Antitrust Fellow will focus on the state of Maryland and prioritize efforts to investigate and understand agricultural and retail food competition issues, with a focus on urban and rural areas throughout the state. The Fellow will work closely with the Assistant Attorneys General in the Division to bring enforcement actions where warranted.
