Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services - Hiring Senior Attorney in Tallahassee, Florida

Under the Florida Constitution the Commissioner of Agriculture is responsible for all matters pertaining to agriculture except as otherwise provided by law. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, headed by the Commissioner of Agriculture, has a broad range of powers, functions and duties under various chapters of the Florida Statutes and, in carrying these out, has employed approximately 3500 employees assigned through several divisions and various offices. To assist and guide the Commissioner and the employees in carrying out their responsibilities, the Commissioner has assigned the department's legal work to a General Counsel, Deputy General Counsels, Senior Attorneys, Attorneys and appropriate support staff. 

The State of Florida is currently hiring a Senior Attorney! The Senior Attorney will represent and advise the Division of Food Safety. The Division regulates food establishments and enforces food safety and sanitation regulations. The Division also regulates the sale of hemp products for human consumption. Renders requested legal advice and counsel to Division leadership, the Commissioner, the commissioner's staff, and other employees of the department related to food safety regulation under chapters 500, 502, and 583, Florida Statutes and section 581.217, Florida Statues.

State of North Carolina - Hiring Special Deputy Attorney General/Services to State in Wake County!

The North Carolina Department of Justice led by the Attorney General of North Carolina, represents the state, state agencies, and elected officials, and defends the rights of the people of North Carolina. The Department handles all state criminal appeals cases and assists district attorneys with complex criminal cases at their request. Additionally, the Department of Justice includes the North Carolina State Crime Lab the North Carolina Justice Agency and the Sheriffs' and Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Division. They are currently hiring a Special Deputy Attorney General/Services to State. 

The Service to State Agencies Section provides a full range of legal service, including litigation before State and federal tribunals, to a number of State agencies or agency components, including the Administrative Office of the Courts, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of State Treasurer, the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, the Office of State Human Resources, the State Human Resources Commission, the Credit Union Division of the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the North Carolina Department of Information Technology and the Wildlife Resources Commission. The Section also provides legal services to a number of occupational licensing boards and commissions, including the Board of Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters, the Irrigation Contractors Board, Pesticide Board, Structural Pest Control Committee, Plant Conservation Board, the Real Estate Commission, the Ethics Commission, the Marriage and Family Therapy Board, the Psychology Board and the Licensed Professional Counselors Board. In addition to serving these clients, the Section also provides legal advice to local government agencies through oral and written opinions to city and county attorneys, registers of deeds and other local elected officials.

The Section Research Manager leads analysts within, and advises the Assistant Director and Deputy Assistant Director regarding activities of, the Agriculture and Food Supply Section. The Section Research Manager ensures that section research and analysis is conducted in a fully collaborative manner, reflects the congressional agenda, and is relevant to congressional policy making. The Section Research manager facilitates the planning, organization and coordination of research, including major research projects related to sensitive or complex public policies of national or international significance. Such projects are often multidisciplinary in nature, and may include research performed by outside consultants. The Section Research Manager ensures that section research and analysis undertaken is of the highest quality and meets CRS's standards of objectivity, responsiveness, non-partisanship, balance, timeliness, legislative relevance, authoritativeness, and accessibility. As part of that process, the Section Research Manager reviews research to ensure that it complements other Service research and analyses; is accurate, well-organized, and cogent; meets professional and service standards; adheres to CRS policy guidelines; and is responsive to the legislative needs of Members and committees of Congress.
