Southern Environmental Law Center - Hiring Staff Attorney in Atlanta, Georgia!
SELC’s wetlands and coasts program works to protect the region’s wetlands, marshes, coastal forests, and beaches—and the communities and wildlife that rely on them. Not only do these landscapes provide important habitat for wildlife and economic benefits for local communities, they are also some of the best defenses against climate change, storms, and flooding.
SELC is currently hiring a Staff Attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. This attorney will work in federal, state, and administrative courts; state and federal agencies; legislative bodies; and local governments to champion protections for Georgia’s wetlands and coasts. As part of this work, the attorney will (1) engage with local governments to advocate for the creation of city- or county-level protections; (2) work to ensure proposed development projects do not adversely impact Georgia’s wetlands and coasts; and (3) engage with partner organizations, communities, business leaders, policy-makers, regulators, and other stakeholders.

New Jersey Department of Agriculture - Hiring Farmland Preservation Staff Attorney in Trenton, NJ!
The State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) leads in the preservation of New Jersey's farmland and promotes innovative approaches to maintaining the viability of agriculture. The SADC administers the Farmland Preservation Program, providing grants to counties, municipalities and nonprofit groups to fund the purchase of development easements on farmland; directly purchasing farms and development easements from landowners; and offering grants to landowners in the program to fund up to 50 percent of the cost of soil and water conservation projects. It also administers the Right to Farm Program, oversees the Transfer of Development Rights Bank, and operates the Farm Link Program, which helps connect farm owners with farmers seeking access to farmland and farming opportunities.
