Special Announcement: Agricultural and Food Law Opportunities

There are exciting opportunities in agricultural and food law at the University of Arkansas School of Law. Applications are now open for two tenure-track positions, one guiding the LL.M. Program in Agricultural and Food Law and one joint appointment that is half-time LL.M./ half-time JD.  Teaching positions dedicated to these specialties do not often open, and teaching in the LL.M. Program at Arkansas is a special opportunity. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for both positions to assure cross-consideration.

Background:  This year, the LL.M. Program celebrates its biggest and most geographically diverse LL.M. class ever, with 45 students in total this Fall.  The Program welcomed 9 new candidates from the states of California (2), Texas (2), Idaho, Oregon, Vermont, and Virginia, as well as the country of Columbia. They joined 23 returning LL.M. candidates from ten different states: California (3), Oklahoma (3), Alabama (2), Illinois (2), Maryland (2), Texas (2), Arkansas (2), Connecticut, Iowa, and Pennsylvania.  There are 13 students who are not taking classes any longer but are working with the faculty on their final article requirement before graduating. As is typical, the LL.M. student body is an eclectic mix of experienced practitioners, government and corporate attorneys, professors, and advocates, combined with recent graduates. Most of the students are part-time distance students, but the Program maintains its on-campus presence with Graduate Assistants and a small number of J.D. students permitted to take LL.M. courses. Read more about the Program and our 400+ alumni on our program blog at agfoodllm.com or the Program's website.
