Good Food Institute, Policy Associate Position


The Good Food Institute is looking for the Policy Associate. This is a great opportunity for someone who want to use their writing and analysis skills to advocate for public investment and fair rules to create a better future of food.


Responsibilities and Duties

Producing clear and insightful research and analysis.

Content creation: writing persuasive and error-free letters, comments, policy briefs, and fact sheets to support GFI’s policy priorities.

Staying abreast of relevant policy developments and communicating them to the team.

Working with other departments to provide policy support to their initiatives and to encourage their involvement, as appropriate, in the Policy team’s work.

Following all lobbying reporting procedures, as applicable (training will be provided).

Performing other duties as assigned, including providing occasional support to GFI lobbyists.

Qualifications & Skills

At least three years of professional experience. Experience with legislative analysis is a plus.

Ability to produce persuasive, well-reasoned, and error-free writing on complex topics.

Exceptional attention to detail.

A strong work ethic and self-motivation.

A solutions-oriented mindset. 

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Flexibility and a positive attitude.

Ability to use sound judgment in setting and managing priorities, proposing and meeting deadlines, and resolving logistic challenges.

Proficiency in Google Workplace applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Calendar).

Cross-cultural sensitivity and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. 

Comfort working in a rapidly growing and evolving organization.

Strong support for GFI’s philosophy and mission; demonstrated interest in public health, environmentalism, animal protection, or hunger relief.

Compensation

Salary: $95,000-110,000  (depending on experience and qualifications)
