The Assistant Provost is the primary leader for the Virginia Coastal Resilience Collaborative (VCRC) at William & Mary. This university-wide interdisciplinary collaborative will produce the science and research translation necessary for stakeholders, leaders, and decision-makers tasked with developing and maintaining resilient coastal ecosystems and communities in the Commonwealth and beyond. The director will provide strategic leadership of the VCRC across six key areas with duties including, but not limited to:
- Serving as the central contact for the collaborative;
- Interfacing with local, state, and federal policy makers and regulators on behalf of the collaborative;
- Coordinating efforts among members, stakeholders and constituents; and,
- Seeking grant and other funding opportunities that can support and augment ongoing initiatives
The Assistant Provost will work with faculty and staff from schools, departments, programs, and centers across W&M, including the School of Marine Science, Law School, School of Business, the Public Policy Program, Department of Economics, the Whole of Government Center of Excellence, and the Entrepreneurship Center, among others, to address multifaceted coastal resilience challenges.
