This position is primarily responsible for proactive counseling and training and the defense of inspections, claims and citations in all aspects of occupational safety and health-related law.

Other responsibilities include counseling and matter management of claims and litigation in all facets of the Team Member employment relationship. Other general responsibilities include a demonstrated ability to effectively and timely communicate with and respond to clients, including senior managers, along with an ability to provide competent risk assessment advice.

The successful candidate relies on extensive experience and sound judgment to independently plan and accomplish goals and possesses an in-depth knowledge of health and safety laws and a wide variety of legal concepts, practices, and procedures in employment litigation. A wide degree of creativity, collaboration, and latitude is expected.

Requirements Education: Law degree from an accredited law school, and a license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Experience: 4+ years of legal experience with a high level of competency in occupational safety and health law. Employment law experience necessary and labor law experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.

Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Special Skills: A team player with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and respond to clients in a timely manner, including the ability to provide competent and practical risk assessment and business advice. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Supervisory: May supervise direct reports, and will work with administrative support staff. Provides functional supervision for support staff such as assigning work and training, and may provide functional advice or cross-training to other attorneys.

Travel: Travel is required but varies with workload.
