Center for Biological Diversity — Oceans Staff Attorney (Remote – California, DC, or Gulf Coast Preferred)

The Center for Biological Diversity is seeking an Oceans Staff Attorney to support litigation and advocacy efforts focused on offshore oil and gas activities and marine habitat protection. This role works within the organization’s Oceans Program to advance legal and policy strategies aimed at protecting marine species and ecosystems through environmental litigation and regulatory advocacy.

Responsibilities include developing and litigating cases in state and federal court, advocating before administrative agencies and legislative bodies, drafting legal comments and petitions, monitoring offshore drilling activities, and collaborating with conservation organizations, policymakers, and frontline communities. The role also involves public communications, policy analysis, and developing expertise in energy policy, environmental accountability, and offshore oil and gas regulation.

Candidates should be licensed attorneys with at least 3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in environmental law. Strong writing, advocacy, leadership, and project management skills are required, along with the ability to manage complex litigation and work collaboratively across teams and communities. A demonstrated commitment to environmental and wildlife protection is essential.

Salary range: $72,500 to $89,500.

Athletic Brewing Company — Marketing & Food Labeling Compliance Specialist (San Diego, CA / Milford, CT)

Athletic Brewing Company is seeking a Marketing & Food Labeling Compliance Specialist to support regulatory compliance across its rapidly growing non-alcoholic beverage portfolio. This role focuses on labeling, advertising, promotional marketing, and trade practice compliance, partnering closely with marketing and sales teams to support compliant brand growth in a highly regulated industry.

Responsibilities include reviewing and approving labels, packaging, advertising, sweepstakes, and promotional materials; advising on TTB, FDA, FTC, and state alcohol beverage control requirements; supporting trademark clearance and claim substantiation; managing label approval systems and state registrations; and providing guidance on marketing and regulatory risks. The role also involves monitoring evolving domestic and international compliance requirements and translating complex regulations into practical business guidance.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in food and beverage labeling and marketing compliance, preferably within beer, non-alcoholic beverages, or other regulated consumer packaged goods sectors. Strong knowledge of TTB, FDA, FTC, and state trade practice regulations is required, along with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Salary range: $80,000 to $105,000.

State Water Resources Control Board — Hearing Officer (Attorney I / Attorney III) (Sacramento, CA)

The California State Water Resources Control Board is seeking an Attorney I or Attorney III to serve as a Hearing Officer within the Administrative Hearings Office. This role supports the administration of complex water rights matters, including enforcement proceedings, permitting disputes, and other adjudicatory matters related to California water law.

Responsibilities include conducting pre-hearing case management, overseeing alternative dispute resolution, issuing procedural rulings and orders, managing evidentiary issues, overseeing administrative hearings, and drafting proposed decisions and orders for consideration by the State Water Board. The role also involves supporting other hearing officers and contributing to the fair and efficient administration of water rights proceedings.

Candidates should have strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, along with interest or experience in water rights law, administrative law, or environmental law. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work independently on complex legal matters. Experience conducting hearings or managing adjudicatory proceedings is preferred.

Salary range:
Attorney I: $7,969 to $12,026 monthly
