Salary: $79,720 to $123,234 per year

Appointment type: Permanent

In this position, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

·       Engage in complex legal and factual issues, which involve the application of legislation, regulations, decisions, expert testimony, opinions, contracts, or other legal instruments to support OALJ adjudications.
·       Interpret and apply statutes, rules, regulations, and program guidance to conservation issues, the agricultural economy including crops and livestock or other animal operations for OALJ adjudications.
·       Draft OALJ decisions or various legal memoranda, opinions, disposition documents for OALJ cases that involve research and the formulation and the development or application of procedures and practices followed as precedent for similar OALJ cases.
·       Provide opinions, advice, and legal strategies that often serve as precedents for subsequent administrative or legal action.
·       Support or engage in OALJ hearings and activities throughout the lifecycle of a case which may involve Rule Making, disciplinary cases, personnel litigation, or debarment actions.
