Earthjustice - Staff Attorney - PA

STAFF ATTORNEY, CLEAN ENERGY

Climate and Energy  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Earthjustice is now accepting applications for a Clean Energy Staff Attorney position to be based in our Philadelphia office.  We seek an attorney to join our growing team of lawyers who work to advance clean energy solutions across the country, and to speed the transition of our nation’s energy system away from dirty fossil fuels.  The attorney will focus on Pennsylvania, but also will work in other states and at a regional and/or national level, as needed.
Founded in 1971, Earthjustice is the premier nonprofit environmental law organization.  We wield the power of law and the strength of partnership to protect people’s health; to preserve magnificent places and wildlife; to advance clean energy; and to combat climate change.  We partner with thousands of groups, supporters and citizens to engage the critical environmental issues of our time, and bring about positive change.  We are here because the earth needs a good lawyer.
Earthjustice has a longstanding track record of success with our litigation and legal advocacy to reduce dependence on dirty fossil fuels and increase reliance on clean energy resources. We see an unparalleled opportunity to hasten a shift away from fossil fuels; achieve major, enduring reductions in carbon pollution; and secure a cleaner, smarter, more equitable electric grid.  The Clean Energy Program advocates for policies and infrastructure that support a swift transition to a modern sustainable energy system.  The Staff Attorney will work to develop and implement litigation and legal advocacy strategies to advance clean energy and transition away from fossil fuels, focusing on Pennsylvania.
