Corporate Counsel II -- Tyson Foods
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for advising the company on matters relating to all facets of commercial and corporate work, and will primarily handle various commercial activities including the review of purchase and sales contracts, marketing agreements, licenses, marketing material and labels. Specific responsibilities will include: extensive negotiation, drafting, and review of a variety of contracts and agreements; advising clients on various regulatory matters, including anti-trust, labeling, marketing and the use of social media; responsible for managing internal resources and efficiently utilizing and directing external legal counsel and vendors as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: Undergraduate degree in a business related field preferred; and Juris Doctorate required.
Experience: 4+ years' experience required; must be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Previous experience in negotiating transactions, drafting and reviewing material agreements, performing required due diligence, reviewing marketing materials and labels, and advising clients is required. Experience in commercial transactions, marketing, and trademarks required, and experience in real estate, corporate, international and food related regulatory issues a plus.
Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office (including advanced word processing skills in Word) required; proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft SharePoint, and/or SAP a plus.
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills. This position will play a key role in working with the company's various business units and will have extensive interaction with management.
Special Skills: Highly professional with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize appropriately and meet deadlines; ability to successfully and efficiently manage and complete short- and long-term projects.
Travel: Some travel required (4-10 domestic trips per year).
