Director, Oregon Department of Agriculture:

Oregon's Department of Agriculture is recruiting for their next Director.

The Director provides overall leadership and identifies the mission and goals of the Department, oversees and is responsible for all programs, operations and administrative functions. Evaluates results in relation to the mission and makes changes/corrections as appropriate. The Director represents the Department and the State of Oregon on agricultural issues, with federal agencies, state, local and industry officials. Represents the Department to the Oregon legislature.

As the Director you will serve as a policy advisor to and spokesman for the Governor in all matters relating to agriculture in Oregon and serves in a major leadership role for all Oregon agricultural interests.

This involves managing the frequent conflicts of interest among a widely diverse group of impacted agencies, citizens and industries.  Serves as a representative of the Governor in determining direction and policy in areas that have critical economic impact on the State.
