FDA - Senior Policy Analyst

Summary:
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of the Commissioner (OC), Office of Policy, Planning, Legislation and Analysis (OPPLA), Office of Policy (OP), Policy Development and Coordination Staff (PDCS) located in Silver Spring, MD.

Responsibilities:
-Apply provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDC Act), Public Health Service Act (PHS Act), and their implementing regulations and policies to a variety of broad and controversial subjects arising under these laws and regulations.
-Provide authoritative advice and guidance to top Agency/organization officials and other stakeholders on critical problems and complex policy issues affecting programs carried out under the FDC Act, PHS Act, and their implementing regulations.
-Establish, direct, and participate in work groups (with scientific, legal, legislative, and regulatory expertise) to develop a consensus of recommendations for action that usually involve several disciplines.
-Develop and propose coordinated responses, alternatives, or solutions to resolve complex policy, legal, and regulatory issues arising under the FDC Act, PHS Act, related federal public health statutes, and their implementing regulations.
-Develop and write speeches, testimony, technical assistance, talking points, complex memoranda, summaries, articles, and reports on a variety of topics arising under the FDC Act, PHS Act, and related federal public health statutes.
