USDA - Loan Technician

Responsibilities:

This position is assigned to Community Programs within the State Office, USDA, Rural Development (RD). This position serves as a trainee assisting higher graded technicians in performing a variety of technical and clerical support functions involving mortgage loans, grants and loan guarantee programs.
  • Reviews loan/grant documents, forms, and materials for adequacy, completeness, accuracy, and conformance with program eligibility requirements.
  • Explains programs to customers and responds to technician inquiries from internal or external customers.
  • Uses multiple electronic data systems to input, track, and update information on applicants and recipients.
  • Research payment information, assists borrowers with payment issues, and reconciles borrower accounts.
  • Prepares and reviews closing related documents to ensure adequacy, completeness, and accuracy of information.
  • Performs routine clerical functions such as phone coverage, mail, monitoring supplies, and timekeeping duties.
