This position is in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), Office of the Center Director (OCD), International Affairs Staff (IAS). The incumbent will serve as the Center's focal point for international issues for foods, cosmetics, nutrition and labeling providing leadership and coordination in decision-making on international matters, and enhancing FDA representation in international policy and technical support.
Responsibilities:
Serve as an agency specialist on international public health and its trade impact, areas of importance with respect to international policy direction and the agency?s long-term goals and objectives.
Represent FDA in negotiations with high level foreign government representatives.
Articulate FDA positions on matters related to public health and trade in a persuasive manner.
Work with the IAS Director and other senior policy staff to develop or oversee the development of agency policies, programs, procedures or guidance.
