  CSPI Job Opportunity: Policy Fellow - Wash, DC or Remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Work with the Senior Policy Associate to develop and implement advocacy goals and strategies for nutrition policy campaigns. Collaborate with outreach and capacity building, communications, scientific, legal, and other policy staff.

    Strengthen existing relationships and broaden support for food and nutrition policies with partners and elected and appointed officials at the national, state, and local levels, including groups and individuals advocating for public health, racial and health equity and social justice.

    Provide technical assistance, materials, and strategic advice to organizations, coalitions, and policy makers, mobilize grassroots, support federal, state and local advocacy (including lobbying) efforts in support of food and nutrition policies.

    Write and develop advocacy materials, including: fact sheets, reports, letters, social media posts, testimony, petitions, infographics, talking points, and action alerts.

    Review scientific literature to inform policy positions and advocacy strategies.

    Organize and represent CSPI at meetings, events, briefings, webinars, calls, and with the press.

    Supervise interns.

    Carry out other departmental activities as needed.
