Kerry, Assistant General Counsel – Commercial (Beloit, WI, Hybrid)

Kerry is seeking an Assistant General Counsel for their food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. This is a hybrid role, although remote work will be considered. 

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements including, but not limited to, supply and customer agreements, vendor agreements and co-manufacturing agreements.

• Analyse commercial contract provisions and provide the business team with updates, risk assessments and applicable legal guidance.

• Prepare and coordinate responses to customers, vendors and other third parties regarding contractual matters.

• Monitor and keep up to date on the latest developments in food-related laws and regulations.


Qualifications and skills

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

• Minimum of 5-10 years in-house or large law firm corporate experience.

• Strong background with complex commercial contracts.

• Demonstrated interest in growing experience in commercial areas.

• Ability to adapt and respond to unpredictable, fast-paced workflows and manage multiple projects at once while prioritizing appropriately.

• Significant attention to detail and ability to interact successfully with business and legal teams, customers and other third parties.

• Experience with food & beverage, food safety, chemicals or regulatory matters preferred.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, superior analytical skills and the ability to manage client (internal and external) relationships.


The pay range for this position is $146,800.00 - $261,000.00 in Annual Salary.

Kraft Heinz - Assoc. Director of Fed. Govt. Affairs (Washington, D.C.)

Kraft Heinz is seeking an Associate Director of Federal Government Affairs who will serve on the federal government affairs team for the Kraft Heinz Company (KHC) and report to the Director of Federal Government Affairs The role will require robust understanding of the legislative process and established relationships with policymakers and staff on Capitol Hill and officials within the executive branch including USDA, FDA, USTR, Commerce, EPA, etc.   

Responsibilities include analyzing and understanding the business impact of proposed federal legislation and regulations that may impact the company’s operations, workforce, etc., developing creative government relations strategies to support KHC’s business interests and the company’s advocacy efforts, and anticipating emerging federal issues that are of importance to the company.

FMI, The Food Industry Association is seeking a State Government Relations Director: a government affairs professional who can break down complex policies and confidently present them to executives, committees, and industry leaders, and who enjoys building coalitions, leading working groups, and bringing people together around shared priorities.

Responsibilities include providing research guidance to FMI members, state associations, and staff on priority state government affairs issues, reporting pending and enacted state legislation and regulatory activity, and preparing information on priority state issues, including developing and drafting policy papers, background documents, and other deliverables.

Candidates should have a college degree and a minimum of seven to ten years of professional work experience in government or government affairs as well as knowledge of and/or experience working in the food industry and with state legislatures and regulatory authorities and agencies.
