Center For Science in the Public Interest - Senior Policy Associate (Washington, DC, hybrid)

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is seeking a Senior Policy Associate to join its Legislative Affairs team. This is an exciting opportunity for a legislative professional who wants to do meaningful advocacy work alongside a high-impact team. You'll play an important role in advancing CSPI's federal legislative priorities on a finite set of issue areas —while building relationships across Capitol Hill, the Executive Branch, and a broad coalition of national partners.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with federal policy makers, supporting the Director of Legislative Affairs throughout CSPI’s engagement in the annual appropriations process, monitoring federal legislation, policies, and congressional activity, and drafting organizational statements and summaries for strategic communications and public audiences.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of professional lobbying, legislative, or policy experience, knowledge of the federal legislative and appropriations process, and strong research, written and verbal communication skills. 

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000

Blount Fine Foods - Corporate Counsel (Warren, RI)

Blount Fine Foods is seeking a Corporate Counsel that will be an integral part of the team to support the continued growth of this dynamic fresh food business. This role will provide hands-on, business-oriented legal support across Blount Fine Foods and its subsidiary companies. As a privately held, fifth-generation, family-owned company, Blount values practical and long-term stewardship of the enterprise, while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit that has accelerated Blount’s success over the years. 

This role is expected to be integrated into the team and involved in supporting all aspects of the business, including Sales & Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Food Safety & Quality, Regulatory, Human Resources, Finance and other commercial and functional teams to promote growth while managing risk and compliance. The Corporate Counsel will also help support the company’s M&A and real estate transactions as well as the many random and undefined issues that come up with a diverse and fast-growing food company.

Candidates should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school, an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts preferred), and 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, with a mix of in-house and/or law firm experience preferred.

Center for Food Safety - Staff Attorney (3 hybrid location options / remote)

The Center for Food Safety is seeking a Staff Attorney. The position is preferred to be based in either Portland, Oregon, or the San Francisco Bay Area, California, in a hybrid home-office model, but fully remote is also considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include supporting litigation and advocacy developed by CFS’s Legal Team and Legal Director, serving as lead counsel or co-counsel as appropriate in CFS cases, and fulfilling the full range of litigation tasks, including factual investigation, legal research and analysis, discovery and record review, briefing, oral argument, appeals, amicus briefs, settlement, and fee recovery.

Candidates should be law school graduates with at least 4 years of litigation experience, including clerkships or fellowships (administrative/environmental/animal law or related area preferred). Helpful skills include communication and public speaking, analytical and legal research skills, and a proven ability to work collaboratively.

Salary Range:

Hybrid - San Francisco, CA: $87,000-$133,000 USD/ year (salary)

Hybrid - Washington, D.C.: $82,000-$123,000 USD/ year (salary)

Hybrid - Portland, OR: $77,000-$113,000 USD / year (salary)

ADM - Senior Counsel, Commercial (Erlanger, KY)

ADM is seeking a Senior Counsel, Commercial. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Nutrition and supports members of the Nutrition Business Unit team by providing legal counsel on matters related to the flavors and specialty ingredients industry, the health and wellness industry, and the animal nutrition and pet food industry.  

The Senior Counsel is expected to provide counsel on a range of topics related to commercial and contract matters, corporate matters, distribution arrangements, joint ventures, pre-litigation matters, and day-to-day antitrust issues and also provides business-unit specific guidance for matters being primarily handled by subject-matter attorneys. Other responsibilities include providing advice and counsel regarding ADM policies and procedures and working with specialist ADM attorneys as required on Nutrition matters and policies.

Candidates should be graduated from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in a U.S. state. Additionally, candidates should be willing to become licensed in another state if necessary. Although a nutrition background is not required, at least 3 to 5 years experience, ideally working in both a large law firm and corporate in-house setting in a BU/commercial role, is required. 

Salary Range: $128,800 - $238,900

Environmental Defense Fund - Director, Agriculture Policy (Washington, DC / Hybrid / Remote)

The Environmental Defense Fund is seeking a Director of Agriculture Policy for a 2-year fixed-term position with full benefits and the possibility of extension. The Director, Agricultural Policy, will lead EDF’s efforts to develop and implement effective and innovative agricultural policy solutions in the United States and around the world in order to reduce impacts to air, land, water, and climate. The Director will bolster EDF’s leadership on agricultural policy, markets, and innovation and will catalyze a growing global strategy to ensure effective teamwork and management across the organization and with key partners. 

Responsibilities include leading strategy development and workplans for agriculture policy, with a specific focus on cropland and fertilizer use, providing expert advice and consultation to the policymakers, partners, staff and other stakeholders on agricultural policy, and working with the Vice President to identify new funders to contribute to fundraising goals.

Candidates should have 10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree. A Master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of experience. Additionally, candidates need deep subject matter expertise in agriculture and fertilizer use and a strong track record of planning, developing, and implementing strategic programs across complex institutional and stakeholder landscapes.

Salary Range: $143,000 - $153,000
