The House Natural Resources Committee considers legislation about American energy production, mineral lands and mining, fisheries and wildlife, public lands, oceans, Native Americans, irrigation and reclamation.


The Majority Staff (Republican) of the Committee on Natural Resources (Committee) seeks an attorney for an oversight and investigative counsel position.

Counsel position (Washington, DC) - The Majority Staff (Republican) of the Committee on Natural Resources (Committee) seeks attorney for oversight and investigative counsel position. Will review and analyze issues and matters pertaining to federal natural resource and energy issues and related federal agencies and entities falling under the Committee's jurisdiction, including the Departments of the Interior, Commerce and Agriculture. Will develop oversight and investigative plans to define the scope and direction of reviews and investigations. Will conduct thorough investigations into matters falling under the Committee's jurisdiction, including document reviews and witness interviews. Will review and conduct investigations of various agencies and entities under the Committee's jurisdiction for fraud, waste and abuse. Will assist in the preparation of public oversight hearings conducted by the Committee. Will draft and prepare reports of findings and conclusions for eventual publication by the Committee.
