Program Officer - Wallace Center

The Wallace Center is looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our Regional Food Economies portfolio as its Program Officer.

The Regional Food Economies team leads the Wallace Center's work developing a business environment within the US food system that enables the success of mission-based farm and food enterprises as they balance financial performance, environmental sustainability, and community impact. The Program Officer is responsible for leading program design, day-to-day project management and implementation, evaluation and reporting, and representing the Center and its values to broader food system stakeholders. This is an exciting, full-time leadership position, offering a competitive salary and benefits, and a unique opportunity to have national impact in sustainable food systems, as well as inclusive rural and urban economic development.

Preference is for a DC/Virginia based candidate but we will consider remote arrangements. The Wallace Center is actively building strategies for centering racial and economic equity in our food systems work and is seeking candidates eager to forward that mission. We are committed to building a diverse staff and to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We strongly encourage applications from candidates of color.
