Program Associate, Food Policy Team, The Wallace Center

The Wallace Center is super excited to bring on another team member to join the Food Systems Leadership (FSL) team as a Program Associate starting in January 2022. We are looking for someone who is deeply committed to racial equity and justice, interested in and familiar with how federal food policy impacts communities, and passionate about food systems transformation. Click here for the full job announcement.

As part of the backbone team of the Food Systems Leadership Network, you will be joining a highly collaborative and virtual crew of five motivated, fun, and passionate people. While we are often all juggling multiple projects, we are intentional about making time throughout the day to go for walks, share highlights from the weekend, offer recipe/book/music/podcast/etc. recommendations, and connect with each other as humans.

As a Program Associate, you’ll be an integral part of the team by providing general support for all FSLN programmatic activities (like the Mentorship Program, online trainings, and topical calls), and will be particularly involved in:

·       Organizing network members around influencing federal agency programs and policies (a.k.a implementation advocacy),

·       Building the capacity of network members to be able to capture federal resources and funding

·       Supporting a new project focused on strengthening ‘farm to food assistance’ value chains

If you’re an early career person interested in working at the intersection of policy, programs, and networks to advance more equitable food systems, this might be the right fit for you! Starting salary range is $52,000 - $58,000 and applicants should have either 3 years of relevant experience or a college degree and 1 year of relevant experience.

While we are accepting applications on a rolling basis, we will be moving quickly through the hiring process to have the new team member start in mid-January, so please do share with qualified candidates or submit your own application soon! We especially encourage individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, or other People of Color to apply. Click here to learn more about the job description, qualifications, and how to apply.
