Amazon - Associate Corporate Counsel, Food Safety Compliance (Arlington, VA / Seattle, WA)

Amazon is seeking an associate corporate counsel to support Amazon’s Food Safety Operations team in North America. An associate corporate counsel will work collaboratively across all Amazon’s emerging and existing food business and compliance teams that work to build new processes that raise the food safety bar for its customers.

A key responsibility will be providing day-to-day advice to Amazon’s Food Safety Operations team and food businesses on regulations governing the transport and sale of food from farm to fork, including laws governing food production, distribution, labeling, recalls, foodborne illnesses and allergens, and permitting. You'll work at the intersection of law, technology, and operations, providing mission-critical advice that directly impacts customer safety. Your day might include counseling teams on regulatory interpretations, reviewing new state-of-the-art compliance technology features, or leading strategic discussions with regulators.

Candidates should have at least three years of legal experience, a J.D. and membership in one state bar or equivalent, knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention, and experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines. 

Salary Range: VA, Arlington - 131,500.00 - 178,000.00 USD annually; WA, SEATTLE - 131,500.00 - 178,000.00 USD annually
