Regulatory Affairs Manager, Diana



This position is for the Diana Food unit under Symrise Nutrition segment, and will be based in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.

Summary:

The main mission of the Regulatory Affairs Manager is to ensure the regulation of products manufactured and/or sold in the US and Canada, meat and vegetable in all markets. Ensure that products & operations comply with relevant local regulations and Diana Food Quality & Regulatory standards in North America and act as a business support.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the compliance of all products sold in North America
  • Initiate and manage compliance related projects, focusing on continuous improvement
  • Manage the team in charge of answering the customers' quality questions, questionnaires, and specifications
  • Answer internal and external regulatory queries
  • Lead the Customer Quality department and related activities for the region
  • Construct and share regulatory focus and position papers
  • Organize and lead efforts related to self-affirmations or agency notices/ submissions for novel ingredients (GRAS, NDI, etc.)
  • Train internal business teams about regulatory topics and updates
  • Liaise with Authorities (FDA, USDA, Health Canada, etc.), consultants and local associations
  • Support the Diana Food facilities with regulatory related topics and license requirements
  • Approve technical data sheets and new labels
  • Support food safety and quality initiatives for the region
  • Attend meetings with customers upon request to provide regulatory expertise
  • Support Supply Quality with the review and approval of new raw materials
  • Monitor regulatory updates and create action plans and communications accordingly
  • Support internal audits and inspections as needed

  • Monitor customs taxes impacting imports

Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years in food manufacturing industry
  • Minimum 3-5 in regulatory affairs
  • Management experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, biology, or related field
  • Master's degree in food law, food safety, or food science preferred
  • Able to work cross functionally with regional and with global partners
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience in project management preferred
