Regulotary Compliance Specialist, Collisons


Callisons, Inc., a recognized leader in flavor innovation and international mint production, seeks a Regulatory Affairs Compliance Specialist to be an integral part of our Flavor Development Team, reporting to the Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs. This role supports a fast-paced development pipeline of new flavors intended for Food and Beverage applications.


Location: Fully remote or hybrid at Cincinnati, OH facility


Wages: Salary commensurate with experience

Travel: Occasional, less than 10%


This individual will ensure compliance with all applicable domestic and international laws, regulations, and customs requirements. The Regulatory Affairs Compliance Specialist will work cross-functionally, performing formula assessments, completing customer requests for compliance documentation, and managing several supporting programs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Performs compliance review of new products and incoming raw materials
  • Manages Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) submission and approval process
  • Manages Non-GMO product status submission and approval process
  • Maintains Organic certification status of manufacturing facilities
  • Maintains finished product certifications and/or re-verifications (e.g. non-GMO project, Kosher certification, etc.)
  • Creates and maintains Safety Data Sheets and GHS labels for new products
  • Coordinates with third-party certifying organizations (i.e., Kosher, Halal, Organic, GMO, etc.)
  • Researches and highlights key changes to international regulatory policies (i.e., ingredient restrictions, trade embargos, rules of origin, etc.)
  • Identifies and disseminates changes to domestic and global regulations impacting Regulatory compliance
  • Participates in internal and external audits


Preferred Qualifications and Personal Attributes


  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or similar
  • Food industry experience in a Regulatory function (2-4 years)
  • Knowledge of BRC or SQF or any GFSI
  • Knowledge of Regulatory and food law at the federal and international level, including third-party certifying organizations in the Food and Beverage industry
  • Self-starter and strong team player; excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, exceptional organizational skills, and detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
