Regulatory Specialist, Dohler


 
The purpose of the Regulatory Specialist position is to provide regulatory documentation and support for flavors, colors, food, and beverage products produced locally and globally Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Prepare regulatory documentation independently for customer requests and submissions relating to the regulatory compliance aspects of Döhler products. • Review formulas to determine if they meet government, industry, customer, and company guidelines for regulatory compliance. In cases of potential non-compliance, assists the creator in making necessary modifications. • Create ingredient statements, allergen information, and nutritional information, along with the completion of customer questionnaires and other documentation. • Assist customers, flavorists, product developers, sales and production with regulatory issues and customer requirements. • Review changes to formulations and raw materials to determine the impact on current documentation. • Submit formulas for third party certifications, including but not limited to Kosher, Organic, TTB. • Responsible for Quality, Food Safety and Legality. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines. This role is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the plant can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit and stand; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary on occasion depending on work load. 
Travel Less than 10% Required 
Qualifications 
• 4 Years College Degree in Chemistry or life science (Preferably Food Science or related) • 1-2 years’ experience in regulatory compliance (Preferably in the food/ beverage industry, flavor experience is a plus) Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft Office Suite • SAP and ESHA Genesis experience • Experience with Kosher, Organic, TTB, DMF, submissions preferred.
