Kraft Heinz - Counsel, Regulatory (Chicago, IL)

Kraft Heinz is seeking legal counsel to support the Food Regulation and Strategy function across a variety of legal and regulatory matters including packaging regulation, sustainability laws, and Proposition 65 as well as other areas of state and federal law relating to the sale of food and beverage products. 

Serving as legal counsel at Kraft Heinz entails providing well-reasoned legal guidance to Kraft Heinz business teams across a variety of legal and regulatory matters, ensuring alignment with state packaging laws (including Extended Producer Responsibility, recycled content, and recyclability laws), federal requirements (including FDA and USDA regulations), and internal standards. Additionally, counsel will prepare and support Kraft Heinz legal and regulatory positions in collaboration with Food Law, regulatory and cross functional partners, including engagement with regulatory authorities, as appropriate, and influence business decisions by delivering balanced, pragmatic regulatory and legal recommendations that protect the company while supporting business objectives.

Candidates should have a a Bachelor's degree, a J.D. and an active Bar license, and 2-5 years post-qualification experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel. Additionally, a successful legal counsel will have strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills and proven experience reading and interpreting statutes and regulations. 

Salary Range: $141,500 - $176,900
