Lactalis (USA) — Corporate Counsel, Yogurt Divisions (Chicago, IL)

Lactalis is one of the largest dairy companies in the world. Their U.S. portfolio includes major yogurt brands like Siggi’s, Stonyfield Organic, Brown Cow, Oui, Yoplait, and Go-Gurt. They focus on quality dairy and strong consumer trust across retail markets. Their legal team supports product integrity, brand stewardship, and responsible growth across the business.

The Corporate Counsel will advise on commercial contracts, food law compliance, and day-to-day operational needs. You will negotiate agreements for supply, distribution, equipment, transportation, co-manufacturing, and marketing activities. You will guide internal teams on labeling, packaging, advertising review, and claims compliance under FDA and FTC regulation. You will support intellectual property matters including trademark clearance, protection, and maintenance. You will also help manage disputes and litigation strategy as needed.

Ideal applicant holds a JD, active bar status, and 5 to 7 years’ experience in a national firm or in-house environment. Knowledge of food law, labeling, consumer protection, and product claims is important. Strong writing, contract drafting skill, and ability to support cross-functional teams is expected.

Salary range: 130,000 to 145,000 per year.
