The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is seeking a Legal Director to lead its Food and Nutrition Policy Program within the Global Health Advocacy Incubator. This role oversees legal strategy, policy analysis, and strategic litigation efforts that support global advocacy campaigns aimed at improving food systems and public health outcomes.
Responsibilities include leading a team of public health lawyers, providing strategic guidance on legislative and regulatory analysis, and supporting the development and implementation of policy advocacy campaigns. The role also involves overseeing strategic litigation efforts, advising on legal frameworks across jurisdictions, coordinating with global partners, and contributing to program leadership and growth. The Legal Director will play a central role in integrating legal strategy into broader public health initiatives.
Candidates should have a J.D. or LL.M. and at least 10 years of experience in legal, legislative, or litigation work related to public health or development issues, along with leadership experience managing legal teams. International experience is required, and experience in food and nutrition policy, consumer protection, or corporate accountability is preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential.
