The NYC Mayor’s Office of Food Policy is seeking a Food Procurement Strategy Advisor to lead and support strategic food purchasing initiatives across city agencies. This role focuses on aligning procurement practices with public health, sustainability, and equity goals, while supporting large-scale food programs that serve millions of meals annually.
Responsibilities include managing end-to-end procurement processes, coordinating across agencies, ensuring compliance with city and state procurement rules, and evaluating vendor performance. The role also involves developing sourcing strategies, supporting vendor engagement and education, managing food traceability data, and producing reports to assess procurement outcomes. The Advisor will collaborate with multiple city agencies and external partners to strengthen supply chains and advance policy-driven purchasing initiatives.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or contract management, with experience in food systems or related industries preferred. Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, project management, and stakeholder coordination is required, along with the ability to analyze data and support policy-driven decision-making.
Salary range: $100,000 to $110,000.
