Ag & Business Legal Strategies is an entrepreneurial boutique law firm seeking a Senior Associate to support its growing practice focused on debt restructuring, bankruptcy, and tax strategy for farmers and closely held businesses. This role works closely with firm leadership to deliver high level, client focused legal solutions for distressed agricultural and business clients nationwide.
You will represent clients in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 cases, negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings. The role includes advising clients on realistic goals, supervising staff, conducting initial client consultations, and helping design comprehensive legal, financial, and tax strategies. The firm values lawyers who thrive in fast paced environments, collaborate closely with colleagues, and pursue excellence in advocacy.
Ideal candidates bring deep experience in bankruptcy and debt restructuring, including confirmation of at least five Chapter 11 or Chapter 12 plans or equivalent creditor side work, along with strong knowledge of income tax and familiarity with the agricultural sector. A JD and licensure in Iowa, or eligibility for prompt licensure, are required. Illinois licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply.
This is a full time, in person role based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Compensation is up to $175,000 annually.
