John Deere – Corporate Counsel, Commercial Contracts (Moline, IL or Des Moines, IA)

John Deere seeks a Corporate Counsel to support commercial contracting for its global supply chain organization. Based at World Headquarters in Moline, Illinois or Des Moines, Iowa, this role advises on the purchase of goods and services that support John Deere’s manufacturing and operations worldwide.

In this role, you will draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, advise business partners on UCC Article 2 and service agreements, and help resolve supplier disputes. You will collaborate closely with supply chain leaders, internal legal teams, and global stakeholders to manage risk, ensure compliance, and develop standardized contract templates and playbooks. The role also includes providing legal training and supporting adoption of contract lifecycle management tools.

Ideal candidates have at least three years of experience with commercial contracts involving goods and services, strong knowledge of UCC Article 2, and experience negotiating service agreements. The ability to translate legal issues into practical business guidance and work effectively in a fast paced, cross functional environment is essential. Experience with technology agreements, intellectual property, or AI tools in contracting is a plus.

This is a full time, on site position. Salary ranges from $107,400 to $161,088 annually.
