AFT seeks a National Policy Director to help lead its state and federal policy agenda. Reporting to the Vice President of Policy, you will coordinate advocacy across regions, strengthen alignment between state and national teams, and support long term policy strategy tied to conservation, farmland protection, and farm viability. You will manage portions of the federal policy portfolio, support Farm Bill advocacy, and represent AFT with policymakers, coalitions, media, and partners.
You should bring deep experience in state or federal policy, strong strategic planning skills, and the ability to translate complex policy into clear communications. Experience with agricultural conservation or farmland protection programs is preferred. You need a bachelor’s or master’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant policy experience. Travel up to 15 percent is expected. The role is fully remote.
Salary is $120,000 per year. Benefits include health coverage, retirement options, paid leave, holidays, and flexible remote work.
