The National Grocers Association is hiring a Senior Director of Government Relations to lead federal advocacy on key business policy issues affecting independent grocers. This role is based in Washington, DC and is primarily in office to support direct engagement with Congress and the executive branch.
You will lead legislative and regulatory strategy across tax, payments, labor and employment, antitrust, and related business issues. The role includes advising leadership and members on policy developments, representing NGA in coalitions and before policymakers, drafting testimony and regulatory comments, and guiding consultants to advance advocacy goals. You will also oversee government relations communications, contribute to member alerts and policy newsletters, and help integrate advocacy priorities into events and programming.
Candidates should have 5 to 8 years of Capitol Hill, Administration, or government relations experience, strong knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes, and a track record of leading advocacy initiatives on business or retail policy issues. A bachelor’s degree is required.
