The Good Food Institute — Deputy General Counsel (Remote, United States)

The Good Food Institute is hiring a Deputy General Counsel to provide in house legal leadership in support of its mission to advance alternative proteins. This full time remote role reports to the General Counsel. Applications are due March 19, 2026, with a target start date in early April 2026.

You will serve as the primary day to day legal advisor across the organization, handling contracts, nonprofit and tax exempt compliance, intellectual property, employment law, lobbying compliance, and regulatory matters. You will oversee the full contract lifecycle, assess legal risk, improve internal legal processes, draft policies, and deliver compliance trainings while partnering closely with leadership.

Candidates must hold a JD, be admitted in at least one U.S. state, and have at least eight years of relevant experience. Nonprofit or in house experience and expertise in trademark and copyright law are strongly preferred.

Salary range: $155,741.82 to $163,529.08, depending on experience and qualifications.
