Premier Nutrition Company — Senior Counsel, Commercial & Regulatory (Emeryville, CA)

Premier Nutrition Company, maker of Premier Protein and Dymatize and part of BellRing Brands, is hiring a senior level in house attorney to serve as the primary legal partner to its Commercial and Go to Market teams. This hybrid role is based in Emeryville, California, with in office presence Tuesday through Thursday for employees within 100 miles.

In this role, you will advise Brand, Marketing, Product Development, Sales, International, Quality, and Regulatory teams. You will provide practical legal guidance on advertising, promotions, influencer agreements, and marketing claims, with focus on FTC compliance and consumer protection laws. You will counsel on product formulation, packaging, and labeling in coordination with regulatory teams to ensure compliance with FDA and USDA requirements. You will also support distribution strategies, international regulatory matters, ESG compliance, and responsible producer laws.

You will help design scalable processes to manage risk across a rapidly growing business. The role includes training internal teams, identifying legal exposure in commercial functions, and managing disputes related to labeling, marketing claims, and product representations.

Candidates must hold a JD, be admitted to the California bar, and have at least six years of experience, ideally in house or in a firm advising consumer product companies on regulatory, marketing, ESG, and compliance issues. Strong business judgment, collaboration skills, and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear guidance are essential.

Expected compensation is $195,000 to $205,000.
