PopUp Bagels seeks an Associate Counsel to support franchising, corporate governance, leasing, and compliance as the company expands its national footprint. This hybrid role reports to the Chief Growth Officer and General Counsel and works closely with Development, Real Estate, Operations, Finance, and HR teams.
You will help prepare and update Franchise Disclosure Documents, manage state franchise registrations, and monitor federal and state franchise law developments. The role includes drafting and negotiating franchise agreements, area development agreements, commercial leases, vendor contracts, and related corporate documents. You will also support employment law issues, entity governance, and coordination with outside counsel while maintaining legal trackers, templates, and compliance systems.
Ideal candidates bring two to five years of experience supporting franchisors, strong knowledge of the FTC Franchise Rule and state franchise laws, and hands on experience managing FDDs, franchise filings, and franchise related agreements. A JD and active bar license are required, with Georgia admission preferred. The position is based in the Atlanta area with hybrid work flexibility.
