Elanco seeks an Assistant General Counsel to support business development, corporate transactions, and strategic initiatives across a global animal health company. This role works closely with legal, finance, tax, and business teams and focuses on complex domestic and international deals. Travel up to 15 percent is expected, and the position is based at the Indianapolis headquarters.
You will advise on corporate and commercial law, support asset divestitures, partnerships, licensing agreements, and M&A transactions, and lead legal due diligence and deal negotiations. The role includes drafting purchase and collaboration agreements, managing post closing integration, and advising on finance and treasury matters. You will help select outside counsel, support process improvements, and contribute to workflow and technology integration across the legal team.
Candidates must hold a JD and be admitted to a U.S. state bar with at least five years of experience in corporate law or business development transactions. Strong deal drafting, negotiation, and project management skills are required. Experience in animal health, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated industries is preferred, along with familiarity with AI tools, securities, tax, IP, antitrust, and data privacy issues.
