Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, the fourth largest wine company in the U.S., is seeking an experienced regulatory attorney to join its legal team as Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance. This role is based in Stamford, Connecticut, with hybrid or remote options considered.
In this position, you will conduct in depth research on laws governing the marketing, promotion, and sale of alcoholic beverages. You will review advertising campaigns, trade promotions, sponsorships, sweepstakes, coupons, and charitable partnerships to ensure compliance. You will advise Marketing and Sales teams, negotiate and review marketing and sponsorship agreements, and develop training programs to strengthen compliant practices. You will also guide regulatory strategy for entry into new international markets and partner cross functionally to support growth.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor, maintain an active law license, and qualify as in house counsel in Connecticut. At least five years of regulatory legal experience in the alcoholic beverage industry is required. Strong analytical skills, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment are essential.
