Winrock International is seeking a Director of U.S. Agriculture to lead strategy and programming within its Wallace Center, a national initiative focused on building a more regenerative, equitable, and resilient food system. This role provides leadership across domestic agriculture programs, guiding strategy, operations, and partnerships to advance economic opportunity, ecosystem health, and community resilience. The position reports to the Senior Director of U.S. Programs and includes light domestic travel.
The Director will set strategic direction for U.S. agriculture initiatives, oversee program execution, and manage financial planning and performance across multiple projects. Responsibilities include leading and developing a high-performing team, building cross-sector partnerships, and representing the organization across national networks. The role also involves driving fundraising efforts, cultivating relationships with funders and government partners, and ensuring program outcomes align with organizational goals.
Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in U.S. agriculture and food systems, with strong knowledge of regenerative agriculture, regional food systems, and ag-of-the-middle issues. Experience managing teams, overseeing budgets, and securing funding from public and private sources is required. Strong leadership, partnership-building, and strategic planning skills are essential.
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000.
