The International Bottled Water Association is seeking a Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs to serve as its lead technical and regulatory expert. This role advises on scientific and regulatory issues affecting the bottled water industry and works closely with federal and state agencies, including FDA, EPA, and USDA, to support policy development and compliance.
Responsibilities include providing regulatory and technical guidance to members, managing research and certification programs, and leading engagement with policymakers and regulatory bodies. The role also involves overseeing industry standards, supporting compliance with frameworks such as FSMA and HACCP, managing external research and consultant relationships, and serving as a key spokesperson on scientific and regulatory issues. The position works closely with internal committees and leadership to ensure industry positions are grounded in credible science.
Candidates should have a background in biological, chemical, or environmental sciences, with approximately 15 years of experience and prior management experience. Strong knowledge of food safety, regulatory systems, and scientific research is required. Experience with trade associations or in the food, beverage, or water sectors is preferred, along with strong communication and leadership skills.
