Perdue Foods is hiring a Director of Food Safety and Regulatory to lead enterprise wide food safety strategy and regulatory compliance across its poultry and protein operations. This role is remote based with approximately 50 percent travel to processing facilities and corporate headquarters.
You will set and execute the long term food safety vision, oversee plant FSQA organization and staffing, and serve as the primary liaison with FSIS District Offices and Washington, DC. The role includes leading regulatory program development, mentoring food safety professionals, guiding harvest process control and pathogen intervention programs, and ensuring continuous improvement through monitoring regulatory developments and industry trends. You will also participate in industry advisory groups and major capital or equipment projects to ensure food safety risks are addressed.
Candidates must hold a BS degree or higher in poultry, meat, or food science and have at least 10 years of food safety experience in food manufacturing or poultry operations. Advanced degrees are preferred. Deep expertise in regulatory compliance, microbial interventions, further processing, and plant operations is required, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
