The International Fresh Produce Association is seeking a Vice President of U.S. Government Relations to lead its federal advocacy, political engagement, and grassroots strategy for the fresh produce and floral industries. Based in the Washington, DC area, this role manages relationships with Congress, the Administration, and federal agencies while advancing IFPA’s U.S. Public Policy Agenda. The position also oversees IFPA’s political and grassroots programs, including FreshPAC, and builds coalitions and member advocacy networks to strengthen industry engagement in policy and political initiatives.
Responsibilities include advocating for industry priorities with policymakers, identifying emerging policy issues, leading coalition efforts, and collaborating with internal teams across food safety, nutrition, communications, and other policy areas to deliver integrated advocacy strategies. The role also includes developing political engagement initiatives, strengthening grassroots participation among members, and providing leadership to the Government Relations and Political Affairs team.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least 10 years of experience in government relations, political advocacy, or public policy. Experience working with Congress or the Executive Branch is strongly preferred, along with knowledge of agriculture, fresh produce, or food industry policy. Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area with regular engagement on Capitol Hill and with federal agencies.
