Iowa State University’s Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation is hiring an Ag Law Research Specialist to support education and outreach on agricultural law, taxation, business entities, and farm transition planning. This role is based in Ames, Iowa and will be hired as an Industry Extension Specialist III. The position is a term appointment with an expected long term renewable option.
You will research and analyze federal and state agricultural laws and regulations, develop practical educational materials for print and online publication, and deliver programming through workshops, webinars, and conferences. The role includes translating complex legal concepts into clear guidance for producers, attorneys, tax professionals, and agricultural advisors. You will collaborate with CALT staff to monitor legal developments and engage with policymakers, industry leaders, and university partners to support trusted, objective agricultural law education.
Candidates should have strong legal research and writing skills, excellent presentation abilities, and interest in agricultural law and taxation.
