McCormick is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Specialist to support international import and export compliance for products moving between the Americas and global markets. Based at the company’s global headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland, this hybrid role provides technical expertise on trade regulations, tariff classification, and cross border compliance.
You will manage product classification using Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes, determine country of origin and free trade agreement eligibility, and analyze international trade regulations affecting McCormick’s products. The role also includes advising internal teams on supply chain requirements, trade documentation, licensing, and duty optimization while coordinating with government agencies such as U.S. Customs, FDA, and USDA.
Responsibilities include managing export compliance processes, screening business partners against sanctions lists, overseeing Automated Export System filings, and supporting cross functional teams with regulatory guidance on cross border transactions. You will also contribute to export audits, provide compliance training, and recommend improvements to trade processes and SAP GTS data systems to reduce risk and support operational efficiency.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in international trade, international business, logistics, food science, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related field and have at least five years of experience in international trade and regulatory compliance. Experience with tariff classification, free trade agreements, and cross border export operations is required. Experience with ERP or SAP systems and the food industry is preferred.
Salary range: $87,910 to $153,970.
